| Hosting ILPC 2013 added 08 February 2012We have revised the call for applications to host the 2013 conference. Whilst we would particularly welcome applications from North American venues we are open to applications from any suitable people and places. Applications should be received by 15 March 2012.
Preparations for 2012 in Stockholm are almost complete. The organisers are receiving numerous requests concerning the timing of presentations. The aim is to publish a draft schedule, hopefully sometime next week. However, this process would be quicker if all those presenting could register as soon as possible.

- Full member fee: 3400 SEK excl. VAT - 4250 incl. VAT

| Preliminary start and end times added 24 January 2012The conference is scheduled to start at 11:00 on Tuesday March 27 with lunch and keynote address, and end on Thursday March 29 around 14:00.
We are working on scheduling paper sessions and symposia, and will get back with more information as soon as possible. |
| Registration and Planning for the conference added 21 December 2011The registration is now open. To register for the conference, you will first have to login - and create a user if you do not have one.
Those planning to attend the conference should also make other preparations with regards to travel and accomodation.
Under ILPC 2012/travel information, we have posted some information with regards to getting to Stockholm. You might want to check it out before booking flights and trains.
Under ILPC 2012/accommodation, we have listed a selection of hotels where we have managed to book a (limited) number of rooms at discount rates. You will have to contact the hotels yourself and give the respective registration number listed under accommodation to recieve the discount price.
In these times of Internet searches and hotel booking, it might be possible for you to find better deals at other hotels in Stockholm. Since no conference-related activities are planned in conjunction with the hotels, this should not be a problem. We however advice you to choose a hotel that is situated in central Stockholm and/or near a subway station in order to easily reach the conference venue at the Stockholm University Frescati campus. |
| Abstracts review done, notifications have been sent out added 04 December 2011We are happy to announce that we received well over 270 abstract submissions to the ILPC 2012 conference, the vast majority of which were of high quality. Looking at the proposals sent in, next year's ILPC promises to be full of interesting presentations.
The reviewing process of the submitted abstracts is now finished. Notification of outcomes have been sent out via e-mail.
If you have sent in an abstract and have not yet received a notification, please contact us as soon as possible at ilpc.admin@gmail.com. It might be that the actual abstract has been misplaced (especially if it was not sent in the normal way through the website).
But it might also be that the notification itself (being a mass e-mail) got stuck in your institutions' fire wall (it did at our place, Stockholm University). You might want to check your spam or trash folder before e-mailing us.
We will shortly open up the registration. |
| Submission Jam and Extended Deadline until November 3rd added 29 October 2011
As usual, the vast majority of submissions was sent in the last few days before the official deadline, 31st of October 2011. This at times made the page very slow or even made it impossible to log in, especially on Monday the 31st.
Because of this, we have decided to extend the deadline for abstract and symposium submissions until Thursday November the 3rd 2011.
The system should be fine by now as the submission congestion has cleared. But if you are still experiencing problems, please send an e-mail to: ilpc.admin@ilpc.org.uk |
| ILPC 2012 blog added 22 October 2011Welcome to the ilpc2012 Stockholm blog, to follow the development of the conference, get hints about Stockholm, and take part in a dialogue with the organizers. |
| Call For Papers 2012 added 01 June 2011
The deadline for abstracts is, as normal, 31st October 2011.
Full Call for Papers (pdf) can be downloaded here.

The previous two conferences at Rutgers and Leeds have seen record attendances and were truly international events. We are confident that such success will be repeated as the conference venue moves to the attractive city of Stockholm for 2012. Sweden has a great tradition of research into working life and the conference will be organised by the Department of Sociology at Stockholm University, in cooperation with Work Science departments at Karlstad and Luleå.
Too follow the preparations of the conference you may want to visit the ilpc2012 blog where you can comment and contribute to an open dialoge.

| Pre-Conference Doctoral Student Workshop added 03 October 2011As previous years, the 2012 ILPC conference will include a one-day (free of charge) pre-conference workshop for doctoral students, followed by a dinner reception. This year, the workshop will be held by prof. Jan Ch Karlsson and his colleagues Ann Bergman and Henrietta Huzell from the department of Working Life Science at Karlstad University. Registration for participating in the workshop is handled through the general registration form, which will be available on the web site in December 2011. The title of the workshop is ‘Argumentative writing – systematically building a scientific text’. It is a hands-on workshop in which we will discuss and apply a model based on argumentation theories. The goal is that the participants will be able to use the model in their own writing of articles and books. More information about the workshop will be posted here on the home page later. If you have questions about the content now you may mail directly to Jan.Karlsson@kau.se |
